| Conscience/Conviction In the Dark Ages setting, the difficulty of a Road test is 6.
House Rule: If you botch a conscience/conviction roll, you lose a dot of conscience/conviction. You do not receive a derangement automatically. However, you may select to take a derangement instead of the conscience/conviction score loss, but only by staff approval. If you are selecting a derangement it must be appropriate for your character, it must be impeding to your character, and you must show understanding of playing the derangement in question.
Frenzy Frenzy is an important part of the Vampire Genre. We will be running frenzy challenges in this game, including frenzy in combat. Below is our staff modified list of frenzy difficulties. There may be other situations in which staff feels it appropriate to ask for a frenzy test. Staff will be specific with their reasons. You may spend a WP to gain an automatic success per round, but remember that if you possess Self-Control, you need a total five total successes to fully stave off the Beast. If you have Instinct, you automatically frenzy but may roll each turn to control one action.
3+ Sight of blood when hungry 4+ Smell of blood when hungry 4 Being harassed 4 Life threatening situation 4 Malicious taunts 6 +/- Physical provocation 6 +/- Exposure to a level 1 violation of your road 6+ Taste of blood when hungry 7 Loved one in danger 8 Outright humiliation (+1 for significant sources of nearby fire)
Rotschreck Rotschreck is also an important part of the Vampire Genre. Below is our staff modified list of frenzy difficulties. As with standard frenzy, you may spend a WP to gain an automatic success per round, but remember that you need total five total successes to fully stave off the Beast. An important note is that Rotschreck tests are only required when dealing with uncontrolled fire. The use of torches or small fires will in most cases not demand a Rotschreck test. It is only when fire shows itself potential threat that Rotchreck tests are necessary.
5 Being threatened by a torch 6 Bonfire 7 Obscured sunlight 7 Being burned 8 Direct sunlight 9 Trapped in a burning building
Aura of Conviction Each road carries a particular Aura with it, a feeling or impression the Cainite unconsciously projects. The greater the Cainites Road rating, the stronger it is. Very high or low Road impose a bonus or penalty to the difficulty of Soical rolls associated with the character's aura. These modifiers can effect disciplines. Please see the Roads page to view what Aura is associated with each path.
Road Rating 10: -2 difficulty 9-8: -1 difficulty 7-4: no modifier 3-2: +1 difficulty 1: +2 difficulty | |
